During the first part of April, 1915, the 2nd East Surrey battalion of 85 Brigade, 28th Division, were in the front line trenches at St Eloi in the southern sector of the Ypres salient. Reuben Purser died of wounds on 10th April after having been taken back to a hospital in Paris but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. |
